The department of Electrlcul Engi neering hut Just made a valuable acqulHlon to Its supply of npparatus In the shape of two lots of valuable tele phone material. One net of apparatUH comes from tho Western Electric com pany of Chicago and the other from tho Bell Telephone company of Boston. The articles are mounted each on a mahogany base so as to be avaiiable for demonstration. The collection from the Chicago company will become University property; the other will be loaned for an indefinitely long time. Both were secured thru the efforts of Dean C. E. Bossey. Professor Morse estimates the two sets of apparatus to bo worth about $500. The department's work in this direction will be greatly facilitated. BACK FROM PANAMA. H. P. Warren to Speak on "The Pan ama Railroad." Mr. H. P. Warren. C. E. 'Oft, who Is assistant engineer on the Panama Rail read, is In Lincoln visiting University friends during his three months' vaca tion. On Wednesday evening at 7::i0 o'clock ho will give a talk to tho Engi neering Society on ' his observations during his sojourn in the Canal Zone. Tills is the llrst time Mr. Warren has been in the States, slnco his employ ment by the government at the time of his graduation two years ago, and his talk will be of especltl Interest to the engineering students, who are all cordially Invited to attend.
