W. C. A. Party. The vnlontlno party given to tho Y. M. 0. A. by tho Y. W. C. A. hist Thurs day ovcnlng was oven n greater suc cess than tho young ladles had an ticipated. So cavofully and so artful ly was tho program designed that everyone was forced to make the ac quaintance of everyone else, leaving no opportunity for any Individual to feel hlniEolf a stranger. Tho game of forfeiting candy hearts as a penalty for using tho personal pronoun "I" furnished lively amuse-; ment for some time. After this a solo and several recitations' by two-of tho young ladles were enthusiastically applauded for enchores. The conversational ability of tht, young men was also put to n severe test by It series of "Heart to heart talks." This proved to be a unique method of keening conversation on I the move. Each young man was given i a papor heart with six topics for con ! versntlon printed upon It, and wub in structed to seek six young ladles with whom to discuss his topics. Flvo min utes was the maximum time allowed for the discussion of" each topic, and In not a few cases this proved ample time to exhaust the store of knowl edge on tljo subject. One unfortunato feature of the even ing, however, but or.e that was not j without Its humorous slde,-was an em barrassing dearth of spoons when tho luncheon was served. It was discov ered that there wore but twelve spoons by actual count, which shortage made It necessary for supper to be taken by turns, or by "twelves," as It were, while tho remnlnlng unfortunates pa tiently waited their turn. As a wholo the party was one of the most enjoyable social events of the year. UNDERWOOD VISIBLE TYPEWRITERS 136 North Elsvanth Bell 348.
