A. dcsorvoB tho hearty and unqualified approval of all Uni versity people. In tho report printed in Wednesday's Nebraskan there Is much moro than appears on tho sur face and It Is our purpose to bring out in a few wordB Just what such an organization moans to tho University. Nebraska is not a University of 'wealthy students. It is essentially democratic in every. true sense of the word, and tho clique barriers that ( money erects in eastern schools are almost pntiroly lacking hero. But asldo from tho modorately well-to-do, wo liavo largo numbers of students who como horo to oarn their way, wholly or lnMorgo part. In fact.No braska Is maklngxa reputation for the possibilities it affords to mon who aro sufficiently in earnest In their desire vto secure an education toatt.ompt to paythoir way as they go. Such mon aro tho mon who "mako good" and are tho mon above all oth ers that Nebraska is seeking. And hero is whore tho Y. M. C. A. employ men bureau comes in. .One hundred and eighteen mon helped in the pur suit of tho equipment that will mako a largo percentage of them invaluable citizens, Is a record well worthy of strong commendation and tills we ex tend to the limit of our ability. Every Incentive that can be offored to induce young men of sterling abil ity to come to our institution is a boost for Nebraska and will result in a bettor University, a stronger citi zenship, and an increased prestige fpr tho state. Tho Y. M. C. A. employ ment bureau is doing an excellent work and wo wish it success for the future. A CALL TO THE SENIORS, The first definite word concerning the 1907 Senior play has como from the play committee in tho .shape of a call for contestant for parts. Since this is tho mosvltal part of the play from its inception tfntll tho night of its production, wo desire to urge upon tho members of tho fourth year class individually the responsibility that rests with them. The Senior play is apart from graduation itself, THE event of Senior week and as it succeeds or falls the class is judged. The time to insure success 1b not next' May, but now. Since the play is representative of the class '" in the estimation of those -who attond Its production, so It should bo representative in fact of the very best matorial that tho class possesses in i lines dramatic. Wo wish that moro than a half of tho ontlro class would signify their in tentions of trying out for parta In tho cast. There are over twenty parts In tho play selected and there is an ex cellent chance to mako tho play for anyono who is at all interested along tlrnmatic lines. Hand your namo in how to tho committee and plan to ontor the tryout for all thoro is in you. EVENT8 OF FORMER YEAR8. Happenings of other dayB as re corded in Tho Nobraskan: Five Years Ago Today.
