evidences of a moral standard that
owo their origin. Wo ask for Imme
diate action in this regard from tho
standpoints of justice to tho Btudonts
whoso property is very ovldently in
dnngor,- and of tho reputation of tho
University.

shall direct tho mombors of tho fac
ulty, whothor tholr classes aro recita
tions or laboratory periods, to permit
and oven advise, that all wraps bo
brought Into tho class room. If tho
University will not assume tho respon
sibility of wraps lost In tho cloak halls,
It should at least, In justice to tho
students, permit tho students to tako
care of their own property.
A numbor of laboratories at the
present time oxpressly prohibit the
presence of overcoats and hats during
working .hours, and it Is to this fact
that at least three of tho recent thefts

tion of Any Portion of University.
Tho engineers lead In tho percent
age of Increased registration since last
year. Statistics from tho Registrar's
office show that tho numbor of stu
dents in the Engineering school is fif
teen per cent greater than last somes
tor and that this Is a greater gain
than any other department has made.
This increase Is duo no doubt to tlio
tendency of tlio ago toward things In
