A. E, Meade, a member of Phi Kappa
Psl who was In the University last
yoar, is with a railroad surveying par
ty In Wyoming. A rumor has roachod
the Nebrasknn that recently Mr. Meade
rodo twenty miles from camp to attend
a "social function" at tho thriving me
tropolis of Lost Cabin. It Is evldont
that Mr. Meade still retains his aspi
ration to bo bno of tho "four hun

Professor Sheldon, B. Sc. '99, A. M.
'01, Ph. D. '03, now professor of Bot
any in tho University of West Virginia,
has notified Professor Bossoy that ho
intends to make a short visit to. Lin
coln within tho next few days. Dr.
Sheldon has recently arranged to havo
Carl Hartley, '07, appointed his assist
ant. Nebraska scientific graduates ap
pear to bo a clannish bunch.

This afternoon at 3 o'ejock there
will be an exhibition at tho University
Farm of tho steers which aro to bo
sent to Chicago as Nebraska's entries
in the National Stock Show to bo held
In that city from December 1 to 8.

Mr. A. B. Edwards, Ph.D., from
Yale, is visiting tho University. Dr.
Edwards is connected with tho Car
negie Institution of Washington D. C,
and his business is the promotion of
research work along economic lines.
Ho is making tho rounds of western
universities and since September lf
has been to Minnesota Iowa, Chicago,
and Northwestern.
W. Y, Thornburg, who graduated In
the class of 1902, is now superintend
ent of public schools in Aberdeen,
Mississippi, one of tho foremost towns
of that state. Recently Mr. Thornburg
gavo an address beforo tho Southern
Teachers' Association, which Is ono
of tho two groat teachers' associations'
in America.
Miss Pfelffer has returned from hor
visit to her homo in, South Dakota.
While gone shehad tho experlenco of
being lost at night on tho Dakota
plains, and on another occasion ydrove
sixty miles thru one of the worst of
Dakota blizzards.
