TAKE A BRACE.
Ah the day of mid-semester examina
tions In drawing dangerously near, it
behoovos tho students of this Institu
jlon Freshmen and Sophomores In
.particular to keep in cIobo and con
stant communication not only with
their text books, but also with their
InKtructorH. There has boon consider
able complaint of late relative to an
excessive amount of ''cutting" in soino
of tho departments and of unwarranted
"sinning" In othors. Altho it has laid
down no hard and fast rules that a stu
dent shall attond every class every
time it meets, or that ho shall koep a
daily pace with tho work assigned him,
tho University nevertheless presumes
that he Is tu collcgo to study and, act
lug upon that presumption, believes
Itself In duty bound to see that he
(Ioob study.
ANOTHER ERUPTION. !
Once more it becomcB necessary to .
enter a protest against the clouds of
tobacco smoke that hover about the
south gate of the campus at the Con'
vocation periods these unusually pleas
ant fall dny.s. The smokers arc out in
forco and again tho co-eds are forced i
to endure a rudeness wholly unpardon
able. Wo arc almost- forced to the conclu
sion that our smokers "think they ai'e
smart." When a college man tilts his f
crusher on tho back of his head, puts a
good-sized pipe In his mouth, and then '
strikes an attitude when n co-ed comes
near, there are but two possible ex
planations. He is either mentally de
ficient, or he Is a Freshman and
dogtm't know any better.
In either case we have a whole-'
hearted desire to see better conditions.
If a man thinks he must smoke be
tween recitation periods, by all means
let him go where ho will be least
offensive. We have no quarrel to
pick with the smokers except where
they prove to bo a nuisance, and this
is distinctly tho case at the south
gate.

It is because "Kensington" Suits
have stood the test for so many years
for their extraordinary fit, shape-hold
ing nnd wearing qualities that we in-

made. With such fine fabrics as are
used in the making designed and
tailored by experts there is no reason
why they should not meet every re
quirement of well dressed men. They
will and are being worn more and
more by mon who once relied wholly
upon the custom tailor. .It's simply a
matter of seeing them nnd trying thorn

For delinquencies on the part of
Fjoshmen there Is some oxcuse. Tho
institution, Its methods and customs,
are new to him. Ho has not, ns yet,

An Apology.
Thro a reportorial error tho name of
a University student was misspelled
In our columns yesterday. Altho the
editors take every precaution within
their power to prevent such mistakes,
there are times when errors occur in
spite of them. Under all circum
stances, however, the Nobraskan Is
oor willing; indeed anxious, to apolo
gize for and, if possible, to correct
, such errors.
