Professor Barbour 8peaks of Its Archi tecture and Sculpture. Prof. E. H. Barbour, gave an inter esting illustrated locturo on "The Sculpture and Architecture of tho Louisiana Purchaso Exposition" at Convocation yesterday morning. He said of all the great fairs and exposi tions hold in Philadelphia, Chicago or Omaha, none was as great as this .held at St. Louis. A scholarly Gor man who had reveled in the beautioB of these buildingB said they should all bo built permanently in marble to cul tivate our taste and lovo for tho ar tlBtlc, no matter If it cost millions of dollars or took thousands of years to accomplish. Of all tho beautiful build ings of tho exposition tho one most admired was Mines, and Mining, tho architecture of which was original and ontirely American. The class in Silviculture went out to the State Farm last Saturday and planted a full set of tree seeds which it had previously collected. The ob ject of this experiment Is to compare the results of fall planting with those of spring planting.
