Thero is no organization hi Univer-l sity circles worthy of moro hearty sup port from all who ajo-intorested in tho Univorsity than tho Young Wo men's Christian Association. The good that it does is incalculable and its work is wholly unique. Like evory body ' that accomplishes ends of im portance, however, It mus.t have finan cial backing. Its budget is largo and Its resources comparatively small. There is every reason, therefore, why a monoy making enterprise, orig inated an,d promoted by the Y, W. C. A., should be patronized freely and gladly by every member of the University public. Tho Daily Nobraskan publishes the following communication without In any way assuming responsibility for tho sontlmonts expressed: "Mr. Editor: Tho action of tho lntor class athlotlc committee in barring men who have won their college letter from tho inter-class games is a de plorable action in more ways than ono. "It savors of planning to win by de barring a certain class of men. Thero Is no doubt, in tho minds of those who are acquainted with tho situation, that this rule was aimed at the lottor men In the Freshman Laws, an organiza tion recontiynfflllated with the Soph omore class and whoso members were to be allowed to play oh tho Sophomore team, -The number of letter men in this class would justify this assump tion. "Wo admit-that tho committee has tho right to do this, but wo can not agree that tho action itself is right. Exclusive of the 'Varsity players, why has not any bona fide, member of aiiy class a right to play on tho class team? If any class Is afraid that the Soph-H omoros will have a team hard to beat, wouldn't It bo a better way to get oufa team that could beat them on the athletic field, than to pass laws in the committee room to bar, possibly, their best men, and then beat them? Which Is the more honorable to-win a vic tory qn the field or to win it in the committee room? "Again, if places tho letters of Knox, &.0lhB& it it it it it it UNIVERSITY STUDENTS, ATTENTION! H. W.
