his room since Friday on account of
sickness.
B. A. Brown of Lynch, Ncbr., who
was home during vacation, has Just
returned. Tho death of his mother
was tho "cause of his delay. Tho stu
dents deeply sympathize with him in
his bereavement.

Tho class in Argumentation Is nt
present engaged in a series of class
debates. Last Tuesday tho subject
discussed was, Resolved, That United
States senators should be elected by
direct popular vote. Mr. Nielson and
Mr. Wolf defended tho affirmative and
Mr. Bollbaugh nnd Mr. Anderson tho
negative. For a starter this debate
was all that could bo desired. Somo
of the speakers, of courso, were a little
nervous, hut this defect will be oveu
como before tho term closes. Next
Tuesday tho railroad rate bill will be
discussed.
