turo policy of tho Dally NebraBknn.
This board Is to talco tho place of tho
former Hesperian board of publication.
Tho members pf the new board, as ap-
pointed are: Professors Richards,
Louise Pound, Grummann, Avery and
Registrar Clarke.
This change of management, while it
wlll not materially change tho policy
of the paper, yet It Is to jnake a de
cided change of University publica
tions. Tho chango will not bo so evi
dent thla-yoar as at the beginning or
next, when It is expected that the
more decided changes will bo made.
Chancellor Andrews has labored hard
during tho past two years to place
Hho Nobruskan on what was considered

with the -settlement, and assert that
the Chancellor and Regents have been
very fair In their treatment. -
Thero Is a growing complaint among
tho Btudents of a certain department

convenience should bo Imposed upon
the students of this department when

DEBATERS ORGANIZE.
At Banquet Propose the Formation of
a Debating Society.
Jack Miller banqueted the debaters
at his home, 1S19 C street, Wednesday
evening. Tho squad, tho toam and
Professor Fogg were present and re
port a .most enjoyable time.
During the evening tho project ot
establishing an honorary debating so
ciety In the University was taken up
and discussed. Tho discussion result
ed in the appointing of a committee
of throe C. C. McWhlnney, Mason
Wheeler and J. M. Swenson to draw
up plans for such an organization.
Tho society, if formed, will probably
be modeled after tho debating societies
of the East, whero membership is
based strictly upon excellence In de
bate and general scholarship. Tho
candidates are elected to membership
only after they have proven them
selves proficient in competitive try
outs. Tho committee which has the matter
in hand will report conclusions to the
squad at its next meeting, Tuesday,
May 1, when definite steps will be
taken toward perfecting the organiza
tion of tho society.
