today thnt Mr. J. P. Bailey, State Sec
rotary of tho Y. M. C. A., will bo pres
ent at tho committeemen's dinner. He
was Immediately put 6n the list to act
as toaBtmastor. ' A good sproad has
already beon assured and tho pres
ence of Mr. Bailey guarantees to overy
man a royal time. It Is not necessary
to Bpeak furthor of him to University
students.
All the Association men as well as
overy student In tho University will be
glad of an opporturlty to hear Dean
Ringer, tho former General Secretary
of tho Studont Association. It will be
a good chanco for the men to meet
with Mr. Ringer again. While tho din
ner Is especially for committeemen, all
Association members and others are

comes off Friday evening at 6:15.

H. K. Bowman 1ms been appointed
basoball manager for tho Junior class.
Mr. Bowman Is quite a baseball en
tluiBiast and an all-around athlote and
should bo able to work up a good nine
for tho Juniors A game will prob
ably be arranged In the near future to
decide which of tho upper classes is to
moot tho winner of tho Sophomore
Freshman contest to decide tho cham
pionship of tho University.
The annual Junior exhibition at
Yalo recently was won by a student
from Chicago, Marshall Olds Johnson,
who spoke on "The Influence of the
West on American Ideals." Te won
tho Ton .Eyck prlzo, the Income of a
fund of $2,600.
The University medical students
gave a reception and dancing party to
fiolr faculty last Friday evening in
Grant Memorial Hall. Everyone pres
ent reports a most, enjoyable time.
Tho University of Washington Dra
matic club presonted "ThbxPIratcs of
Penzance" at tho Grand theatre In
Seattlo Friday night. It was a xi
pleto success.
