While wo claim the report of tho committee was impartial, yet the spirit shown aftor its reading-gives every evidence of tho political divisions of tho class and tholr antagonism one to another. Such a thing is deplorable in any university, and in any class in that unlvFrslty. When one student will go as low as to use oaths in regard to a fellow-classman, and when this is rc Uprocated, then It Is time to call a halt if such a thing can be done. It appears -childish to the outside world that University functions should be controlled by such political maneuvers, and lc la bound to bring discredit tP any class that fosters the same. The very deplorable conditions which are in ovldenco in some univcrsitlei Is Indeed giving them a bad reputa tion. Tho conditions at Wisconsin, for Instance, Is placing that Institu tion in a ridiculous light before the Acacia Fraternity Has Rapid Growth. The Acacia fraternity at 1103 East Huron street, which was organized two years ago among the Masonic stu dents of the university, is having a remarkably rapid growth. Last year three now chapters were organized at Loland Stanford, at tho University of Kansas, and at tho University of Nebraska and tho fraternity becanio a national one. Clarence Hill, grand secretary of the national organization, has Just Installed a chapter in tho Ohio State university. Mr. Hill is now on his way to Dartmouth, college, Ver mont, after which ho will organize chapters at Harvard and the Univer sity of Pennsylvania. Michigan was the first chapter organized and now has twcnty-flvo members. ccccccccctccccccdSagj ik Corners o z y & Oazrc yyesterfield's NEW ATTRACTION 4v Music at Convocation. . Upon tho wholo everyone considers that tho program given by the Nq braska Glee and Mandolin clubs last night is .of as high a-class as that of any Eastern unlvorslty clubs. And It Is with much regret that tho many royal supporters , of these clubs learn that thoy must give up the much looked for western trip.
