The social meeting of the Dramatic
Club nt the home of MIbs Bessie Hoi
comb Saturday ovening was a very
pleasant affair. A larger number of
members wore present than usual.
After a short business session, foUr
young ladies, Miss Adams, Miss Tully,
Miss Hartley, and Miss Brugger, pro
sontod a littlo play, "The Ladies Speak
at Last," a humorous take-off on
Shakespeare's women. Miss Carr gave

day stated his chancos for recovery
wore slight. Ho has boon. ill. a couplo
of weeks with a Bovoro case of pneu
monia, and Sunday it was announcod
that it had devoloped into a combined
case, of pneumonia and typhoid fever,
and that the patient, was in a very dan
corous condition. Ho 'is attended by
Dr, Mayhow and two or throe othor;
doctors, and all is being done to aid
him in his- recovery Yesterday tho
doctors announcod that his condition
was somowhat improved and It Is to
be hoped that this may continue.
