The athletic contest to occur a weolc
" from tonight between the freshman
and sophomore Clasnes deserves tho
liearty support of every student. It.
is only by some such means that tho
supposedly natural enmity tykwecn tho
tw6 classes can bo mado o manifest
Itself In other ways than by tho burn
ing ot capB, destruction 6T clothing,
' breaking of organB, or punching of
faceB, and surely anything that will
avoid these results or over-abundant
class spirit Is to be welcomed. Such
a contest also fosters real class spirit
and it Iff plainly evident that tho
real article Is badly lacking at Ne
braskaand will bring tho mbmUers
' of the various classes so closely iri
touch with each oth"fcr so early Jn their
course that tho spirit of fellowship
which in tho last-has not appeared
until thuaoniol yoat, and frequently
"not oven then, wljl bo in ovldonco
throughout tho-entire collogo career
of each student.
