During the Thanksgiving recess
Professor Bessey visited his boyhood
homo In Ohio nnd tramped over fields
and woods which ho had not seenfoT
thirty years. He met some ot his
early! acquaintances, among them one
whom ho had not soen for fully forjy
years. They parted as boys, who
called ono another by thblr first names,
always nicknamed at that, while now
ono Is a prosperous business man arid
the otlieF a university professor. Pro
fessor Bessey lnspectod the botanical
department of Oberlln Collego and
found It In a prosperous condition. He
came away with a good Impression of
tho quality of tho work done.
