(Contnued from page 10 this way a file about three blocks in length started to tho depot, but was shortened somowhnt by tho men marching four abreast. At the depot thoy collected 'around tho tally-ho whore many of tho professors and students mado short speeches. ho train was lato and did not ar- rlvountll olovon o'clock. As tho train camo in tho four college yells given in close succession greeted tho team. When . tho car stopped tho men wore lifted from tho platform and placed in tho tally-ho. As each man apoared ho was greeted with loud cheering. When all the team and subs woro in tho wagon tho signal was given for a start. Tho tally-ho was drawn by about three hundred enthusiastic students who kept things going by a continual U-TI-U-U-N1. Tho procession proceed ed up P street to Ninth, from .Ninth it turned into O, coming through tho main part of the city. At Twelfth the direction was changed again, coming direct to tho training table headquar ters. At tho corner of Twelfth and O tho men woro showered with flowers, which had. been kindly given by C. H. Prey, tho florist When tho tally-ho stopped at tho training- table headquarters, tho men wore lifted from 'tho wagon and car ried into 'tho house. Again tho Uni versity yells were given with an en thusiasm which showed tho true spirit of tho student in regard to tho team. It is now a self-ovldont fact that Ne braska spirit Is (ho same whether our team moots with victory or defeat The men are all in tho best of con dition considering the mill they passed throygh on las.t Saturday. Llttla soemed to bo the recipient of tho mdat bruises in tho game, but still bo has no complaint to offor when ho con siders tho amount of Ann Arbor beef ho had to fight against. Borg, Cotton and Taylor all seem to havo survived tho struggle with but few bruises, while Wollor and Wilson, aro ready for the next game at any timo. Coach Booth did not return with tho team, but stopped In Chicago, whero ho will attend to some business in regard to his work before return ing. Assistant Coach Westover is homo and was out with the'toam last ovenlng putting It through some light practice Booth will return to Lin coln today. All tho men. wore out for this practice with but very few excep tions. Tho scrubs woro out in larger num bers than ovor last night for practice. These men aro dotorminod to see that tho varsity has sufficient material for a practlco gamo every evening. Thld spirit 1b surely commendable, as it means more to tho varsity than tho nverago student thinks to have a largo numbor of scrubs from which to pick an opposing team at 'any time. tf Hi Special . (Continued from page 1.) braska does not envy Michigan In thoir position, but Instead glories in tho fnct that such an institution can bo called a Western university. Tho individual work of Bome of tho Nebraska mon was very good In Sat urday's game. Captain Borg's work was especially worthy of notice. Ac cording to Yost, Borg Is considered tho best center in the west. At no time in Saturday's game could Michi gan make consistent gains through Ne braska's center. Johnson nt end also did somo fine work. For Michigan, the work of Curtjs, Hammond, Longman and Nprcross was especially worthy of praise. Ham mond seems to bo Hestpn's successor this year as his yardage was tho great est of any man in tho game for either team. Nobraska will go to Minnesota In p. few weeks with tho same old determi nation to' win, and she will win If root ing and encouragement from the side lines count for anything. Latin Reception. Tho annual reception to Latin stu donts by "Prof, and Mrs. Barber will bo given thlB evening at the Women's Dormitory from eight until ton o'clock. All students In tho Latin Department aro cordially Invited. Th'eso annual receptions aro always very enjoyable and aro particularly so In that thoy offer tho fjrst opportunity of the year for new students to become acquaint ed with each other, as well as with tho faculty and upperclass mon.
