Now that tho Freshman rulo has boon mloptod by tho Conference, and will perchance bo adoptod by Nebraska, this la particularly true, and ovory class should seo to It that thoy put out as good a team as is possible. At tho University of Wisconsin tho Fresh man team has a regular coach, and will play games with tho Freshmen of Chicago, MichiganjNoTthestorn, and Minnesota on VtfoniornlngBpio big games between the first teams of the various schools. While this scheme Is hardly practicable at Nebraska, jit all events this year, still It fs possible for tho class teams to play -with- tho different hlg, school teams of tho' -fltato, and In this way dovolop hien who may In future years bd stars on tho Varsity. "VVhllc oh this Bubject, It might bo well to say a few words about class Uaaket-ball also. Last year no ono seemed to tako enough Interest in tho gamo to seo that tho different classes got up teams, and consequently thoro was only ono Interclass game. This -should not bo allowed to-happen again. Work In tho Law School Is still re tarded greatly by tho lack of books. A numbor of changes Jn tho different courses was mado during tho summer, to correspond to the wishes of tho now professors, and' this neqessitaed a chango in a' numbor of text and ensd books, which had to bo ordered from Boston. The order for tho entire lot was sent tho first of August, and tho books loft Boston on tho 20th of Sep tember. Nothing has been heard of them since, with the exception of ono box containing tho books for tho flr-tt year claBS in Contracts, and thcc wore discovered by Dr. Pound In one of the freight depots, misdirected. Un til tho other books turn up, the second and third year men will bo consider ably handicapped. Military Appointments. Tho following appointments havo been mado in tho battalion: Chief musician, S.
