A New History.
Professor Caldwell, Adjunct ProfOB
sor Persinger and Mr. Alysworth, of
the Department of American History
are completing a source book on Ne
braska territorial history. The work
is a twenty-eight page pamphlet and
will be entitled "Nebraska Territorial
History told by its Makers." Tho
book" contains a brief typical and at
tractive summing up of Nebraska's
early history from the records of tho
pioneers.
A special endeavor has been made
to show therelation of Nebraska to
the national struggles of tho period
from the Kansas-Nebraska bill to tho
close of the Civil war. It is illus
trated with three maps showing Ne
braska in different stages or Its evolu
tion. The book will bo ready in about a
week. Sample copies will bo sent to
teachers of American History known
by the Department, and to others on
application', with the hope of intro
ducing the pamphlet as a part of the
work In American History in Nebras
ka schools next fall.
