In tho "Land of Arcadia,', made fam
ous by tho great poet, Longfellow.
Rov. L. M. Denton, pastor of the East
Lincoln Baptist Church of this city Is
thoroughly familiar with tho scones
discrlbed in "Evangeline," while his
training of recent years has eminently
fitted him for a most Interesting talk
on the subject "The Now Heroism,"
which ho will give to men tomorrow
afternoon at three o'clock In tho Art
Hall. Should Rov. Denton bo greeted
by an audlenco which his ability and
moBt interesting address merit, Art
Hall will bo filled. Tho management
is also pleased to announce tho special
music which will bo furnished by Mr.
Will J. Elliott, a well known member
jof tho University Qleo Club, which
mado such a successful trip out
through tho state during tho Easter
RecesSj, Mr. Elliott has sung several
times before University audiences and
has always been a favorite. This
meeting is always full of good healthy
fellowship, enlivened by a rousing
song service. With a view to tho ac
comodation of those who may have
other engagements, tho meeting, is
concluded promptly at four o'clock.
Art Hall Sunday, May 7, 3 p. m.
The annual banquet of- tho Inno
cents will occur Thursday evening,
Muy 18 at tho Llndell. Initiation of
the newly elected Innocents will occur
Just previous to the banquet in the
Llndell parlors. Numbers of the In
noconts among tho faculty have signi
fied their intention of attending tho
banquet this year and the spread
promises to be a great success. The
sifting of names in tho present Junior
class is now In progress and the men
elected to the society will probably
bo announced next week. Jt has
boon the custom heretofer, to an
nounce the newly 'chosen Innocents on
Ivy day, but the lateness of this day
this year makes a previous announce
ment necessary.
