Academy Notes.
The inclemency of tho weather dur
ing the last few days has given the
Academy baseball team a serious set
bat U. The team has no place where
practite may he held when the weath-e-
will not permit of outdoor work.
The men have been going up against
a losing proposition all of the season
and this handicap has made the mat
ter so much worse that the men on
the team are .now seriously considering
giving up any further attempt at play
ing. All of tTie games played so fai
th is season hae been bust by a good
margin.
The April number of the Academy
News is being distributed this week.
The issue contains articles by A. H.
Swan, George C.. Cleveland, Minnie
Hanson, and Herbert G Myers. Con
siderable space in the paper is de
voted to the interest of Academy ath
letics. llr. Swan In a well written
article urges tho Academy students to
show a more enthusiastic spirit in
support of tho athletic teams, -while
Mr. Myers In an article of considerable
length discusses the need of a more
enthusiastic spirit and contends that
the best remedy for tho evils, which
have characterized all attempts to get
out teams at that- institution, is tho
ojganlzatlon of an athletic board to
have control of all athletic affairs at
the Academy.
