N, Ralph Robinson has boon compelled to discontinue his studies on account of sickness. Several of the students in Chemistry 2 havo finished their laboratory work for tho somester. The class has been putting in double timo in tho labora tory in ordor to get the work done bo fore tho days become so warm. Mr. O. A. Lee, '05 Law, who has been giving such excellent satisfaction at the' Academy as toachor of Argumenta tion, oxpects to go to the Pacific coast next year for his permanent location. His success In teaching, however, may induce him to put in a year in that profession while determining his fu ture home. Manager Perry has secured two more games for his colts. Tho team will play Cotnor Unlvorsity Friday and will meet tho team from tho University Law Collogo on April 12th. The man ager has been compelled to abandon tho idea of purchasing suits for the team because of a lack of funds for that purpose and each man who plays will have to furnish his own equip ment. Tho team has been practicing regularly and everything points to a team which will bo up to tho usual standard maintained by the Academy In athletics. The Academy students must make up in spirit what they lack in numbers and the managers of the various athletic teams at that institu tion havo to assume the almost impos sible task of building up a team upon spirit alone without the competition for places on the teams which some of their more numerous neighbors are fortunate enough to have. Professor Hodgman, Inspector of ac credited schools, was one of tho vice presidents of tho North Central Asso ciation of Colleges and Secondary Schools elected at the meeting of that Acad my-Note s. Mc Cloan, former chancellor of this Uni versity, now president of Iowa Uni versity was elected president Profes sor Hodgman romalned in Chicago over Monday and through tho kindness of Dean Pratt Judson, of the Unlvorsity of Chicago, was givon an excellent opportunity to study tho nowor devel opments of that University. Ho also took timo to agali visit tho art insti tute and the new building for tho First Nntional Bank, which is Bald to bo tho finest bank building in tho world. Through tho kindness of a col lege fraternity friend he was enabled to meet a number of influential school mon, among whom was Dr. A. Ross Hill, formerly professor of psychology in this University at a luncheon served In the Union League Club of Chicago. This Club has become quito well knows as having been tho back bone of the municipal fight for purity in Chicago in recont years. In Otlier Colleges Andrew Carnegie has presented Tufts with 1100,000 for a new library; and Bowdoln, from another source, has recoived 200,oOO. As a result of a recent bequest of $50,000 Syracuse University Is at last out of debt, for the first time Binco its founding, thirty years ago. Yale won the twelfth intercollcgiato debate from Princeton, receiving the unanimous decision of the Judges. Yale upheld the affirmative of tho proposi tion that "Tho United States ought not permanently to hold territory it does not Intend to admit to statehood."
