Editorial Remarks
The sorority girls at Minnesota are
to provide banners to bo awarded the
winners of first, second and third
places in the coming Inter-fraternity
Held meet at that University. This is
a pious idea. We don't hnve an inter
frntornlty field meet but we do have an
Intel -fraternity baseball league.
Engineers' Summer School.
Up to the present time, very little
hns been done In a way of developing
summer courses In engineering lines,
now one of the most popular and use
ful lines of education, nnd to the State
College of Kentucky belongs a great
deal of credit for working out the pi
oneer movement In this line. The Ne
braskan Is In receipt of a catalogue
oi announcement of the courses which
will be offered to engineering students
nt this college during the coming sum
mer. Tho couj-bcs will open on June
"8th and continue for ten weeks during
the summer. Courses are offered In all
the branches of mechanical and elec
trical engineering Including mathemat
ics and other required subject In thesa
branches. A summer school in me
chanic arts fills a most Important place
In our technical system and It Is hoped
that other schools will adopt the Idea
of the State Collego of Kentucky and
inaugurate a summer school for the
engineeis.

and the basketball game tonight should

Y. W. C. A. rooms. The program com
mittee has arranged a specially strong

Old Uni. Man Dies.
Dan H. Wheeler, U. of N., '83, died
very suddenly at his homo In Omaha
Wednesday from a stroke of apoplexy.
Mr. Wheeler was a member of Nebras
ka chapter of Sigma Chi and of Wil
liams chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. Ever
since finishing his university course he

The Hawkey Club of the University
of Nebraska is called to meet Friday
evening, April 7, at the residence of
Professor Chatbum, 2850 P street. The
object of the club is to bring all the
students In the University from the
State of Iowa into closer contact. The
oiganizatlon has, so far, a membership
of about one hundred and it is hoped
that this number will be Increased
somewhat this year. All Iowa students
In the University are cordially invited
to attend this meeting.
