Profesor Webster of the Unlveislty of lllnois called on his friends in the department of Botany and Entomol ogy yesterday. Two packages of specimens of glasses wete received by the Depart ment of Botany Thursday for the Unl erslty Hot barium. They were sent by the, Division of Agrostology In Wnsh Irgton. Tho packages contained one hundred and twenty-five specimens. The first volume of a new Manual of the Desmlds has Just been received by the Dopaitment of Botany. It is il lustrated by thirty-two plates, includ ing nearly one thousand figures, many ot which are colored. When completed this will be the most important and useful book on theae beautiful mlcro woplc plants that has ever appeared. A large delegation of high school students from Wahoo, Neb., headed by Sunt Searson of the Wahoo city schools, Visited the University yester diiy. Tho students were taken through the various departments of the Uni versity and we re given an idea of the size and of the management of tho institution. Most high school students have but a very vague idea of what the University Is and the visit, though short, was an Intel est ing and profitable one for them. M. J. A. Barrett, curator and librar ian of the Nebraska State Historical Society, has recently compiled a list of the members of tho Alumni Association or the University of Nebraska.
