Board is corresponding with several
prominent jurists and college profes
sors In the middle west relative to the
selection of Judges for tho Iowa and
Washington debates.
President Anderson has called a
meeting of the Debating Association at
1 o'clock tomorrow In U 116. The pur
pose of this meeting Is to elect a vice
piesldent of the association, to succeed
Frank Brookings, who discontinued
Mm studies last semester. All students
who entered tho preliminary debates
or who have paid their membership
fee of $1 00 are members of the associ
ation. The second debate of Rhetoric 16,
the advanced class in argumentation,
will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon
in U 106. The question debated will bo
as follows: "Resolved, That Immi
gration Into tho United States should
be limited to persons Who can read
and write and pay a capitation tax of
trenty-flvo dollars. Tho affirmative
will be debated by Anderson and Bed
nar and the negative by Miller and
Marsh. All who are Interested In ar
gumentation are welcomed at these
debates.
