fund. The cast is excellent and Is un

Song Cycle,
An unusually large audience of stu
dents and outsiders listened to the
musical program given at Convocation
yesterday. The program consisted of a
song cycle, a pretty idyl of Arcadia en
titled, "Captive Memories," composed
by the favorite writer, Elhelbert Nevln
Miss Alice Howell read the connecting
links of the parts which were rendered
by the following:
Miss Elea.ior Raymond, soprano.
Miss Grace Cutter, alto.
Mr. George Johnston, tenor.
Mr, B. B. Gillespie, bass.
The program was a novelty in the
line of Convocation music and was
thoroughly enjoyed by all who were
present.
The Amateur Athletic union has
been notified that tho New England
association has suspended tho Yale
University basketball team. The ac
tion was taken because of the fact, that
the collegians had played the team of
Kast Hampton, Mass., which is claimed
to be a semi-professional five. This
bars the Yale players from all ama
teur competitions held under tho Ama
teur Athletic union throughout the
United. States.
