Some of the specimens have been in these tunnels for seven or eight years. An attempt is being by the Board of Regents to secure the appio priation of fifty thousand dollars for the erection of a north wing of a state museum. This is included In the general appropriation asked for by the Regents. Should this appropriation pass the legislature it will be a great benefit not only to the University, but also to the whole state. Ex-Regent Morrill, who has ahas taken an active Interest in the work, will donate (Ive thousand dollars, to be paid In annual installments of one thousand dollars, for carrying on the work of collecting material, when a suitable building shall be provided for the storing of tne collections.
