clubs usually found at such concerto
SdihVjjiktflo much to-itn credit. lfor
ft long time wo did not have a glee club
at Nebraska. As yet w do not have
a mandolin and guitar club, nor a bad
Jo club. .Material was found for a Olco
club well worthy to represent Nebras
ka, and there are enough men in the
University who play some Instrument
to compose other musical clubs. It Is
too latP, - now, ,-to .organize such clubs.
Ibis season, but stops should be taken
early next semester looking toward
the establishment at Nebraska of a
mandolin and guitar club or a banjo
club. There is no reason why the suc
cess achieved by the Gleo club this
year cannot be rivaled by other Unl
vcrsity clubs next 3-ear.

Concert Proceeds.
The various committees connected
with tho home concert given by the
Gleo club have all reported and nearly
cery account has been wound up.
With a possible slight subtraction or

Thile tho expenses incurred were

The Junior class meeting today will
be for the purpose of cleaning up the
balance' due on the "Freshmen Cap
deal. The funds raised by the sale of
tho '06 caps of this year was not suffi
cient to meet the balance so other
moans must be adopted.
The Juniors have been ery loyal
ar a class and have stood back of the
movers of tho cap burning' very well
financially and theie is no doubt but
they will until the last vlstnge of the
debt is swept away The class Bpirit
has prevailed in this case as It does
in but few cases. Notwithstanding
ihe action of the men burning tho '08
caps was not authorized yet the class
stood by the action of the minority
in this case.
More Funds.
The State Historical Society has
asked thi Senate Finance Committee
lor an appropriation of two thousand
fe hundred dollars to be expended in
the publication of "the debates of the
State Constitutional Convention of
1S71. The record of these debates was
recently discovered in the State House

cal Society. They were transferred to
the society by the lecent resolution of
the Nebraska House of Represonta

Such a remainder on Ihe right side is
fomewhat of a surprise to all but tin.
management. Last year the conceit
ghen at the Oliver barely paid for lt-H-lf,
and two years ago there was
ocoughpatronage In the University to
warrant taking tho affair away from
the University, nor Incurring the
slightest expense. Such a stride for
vurd Is a good indication. The Glee
( lub Is coming to be uprpeclated as It
Fhould be. Next year another stride
forward should be taken.
Tho Gleo club management Is to be
congratulated on planning and carry
ing out a concert so completely stic
ccbsful In every respect. And the fact
that the Glee club was not assisted by
the mandolin and guitar and banjo
of the records oi the conventions of
1864, 1866 and 1875. Several men out
side of the Historical Society are in
terested in their publication and are
using their influence othat end.
