University men will be pleased to learn that the genial Mr. Bailey, state secretary of the Young Men's Christian Association, has consented to act as toast master at the annual banquet to bo held at the Llndell on the evening of March 3. Mr. Bailey is well known for his big hearted, whole souled mer riment and no doubt he will keep things lively on this occasion. He Is brim full of enthusiasm and knows how to tell a story in good shape. Every member of the University as sociation should plan at once to take in this important function the big social event of the year. Tickets are now on sale and can be secured of any of the association men. Anyone not a member of the association but who Is interested in its work, will be cordial ly welcomed. THE MAXWELL CLUB. On special call of the president the club was called for the purpose of re suming the work, as It has been dis continued for sometime. New officers were elected and a gen eral discussion as to tho best Interests of the club held. The question, Resolved, That the Russians as they now stand are not capable of main taining a republican form of govern ment. Messrs Parrott, Rickard and Martin were appointed on the affirmative and Messrs. Osmond and Hendrlckeon on the negative.
