debaters and writers. Nebraska holds
I ho highest place in the middle west in
debate, and should be well represented
not only in tho subscription list, but
on tho editorial staff of this paper. A
club of fifty ought to bo organized here
without effort and overy debater should
sign his namo to the subscription list.

sity Oleo Club an organization of
which not only wo of tho University,
but all Nebraskans might bo proud.
Mr. Eames' namo stands for more
than individual attainments as an art
ist. Whatever ho' is connected with
ho leads with serious, qarnest offort
toward what stands for tho best and
highest. This does not mean that all
that takes place In his namo roaches
in attainment all ho might wish but
rather that it is foundod on, and has
workod along tho honest linos of legiti
mate art and ho dosorves moro than
more thanks for his untiring and en
couraging offorts as well as for tho
financial support wiiich ho has volun
teer od.
In tho short tlmo that ho has been
connected with tho club, which was in
a remnant and almost unorganized
condition when ho come to tho rescue,
Mr. Eames has accomplished wonder
ful results. Thoro has been stoady
improvement in both tho work aud co
operative IntoreBt of tho members of
tho club and thoro is ovory reason to
believe that this year's concort will
bo much bottor than last year's.
Without sacrificing musical merit,
Mr. Eames haB arranged a program
which will bo of more interest to the
general public.
However, all tho above is relative to
tho merits of the club In itself. But
success doponds not only on merit, but
upon recognition and support. No
matter how good football wo play, we
would nover havo ranked where wo do
today without Nebraska support. The
Oloo Club has novor yet boon given
University support and yot it is the
ono function which can create and pro
mote collego spirit. Wo need our Oleo
Club to be recognized as worthy by
other universities, but to do this we
must first have recognition at homo. Itrj
will not only mean Gleo Club recogni
tionit will bring our university to
