year teaching English and debate in
tho Spokane, Washington, high school,
is arousing a great deal of Interest In
debato throughout tho state of Wash
ington by the organization of an Inter
high school debating league. This
league consists of eight of tho leading
high schools of tho state, Spafford, a
graduate of Nebraska, 1902, who is
teaching in tho Davenport (Wash.)
high school, is also interested In this
organization. The first debate of the
series will occur soon between Spokane
Warren B. Cattlln, 1903, a member of
tho Nebraska inter-state debating
teams In 1902 and 1903, who was In
structor in languages In the Hamburg
(Iowa) high school during the last year
