The Annual rendition of tho "Mes
siah, " which has come to be such an
onjoyablo feature of Mrs. Raymond's
work In tho University, will be given
tomorrow morning at convocation. Tho
chorus has been working hard and
faithfully under Mrs. Raymond, and
they will ably support the soloists, who
are the very best, 'as their names
prove.

siah." program.
All who are to take part In the "Mes
siah" are requested to be In their
places on the platform a little before
11 o'clock.
Yesterday evening tho candidates for
the inter-state debating squad met
with Proffessor Fogg to receive gen
eral directions regarding preparation
for the preliminary debates which will
be held In the near future to chooso
Nebraska's, representatives In the
inter-colleglate debates. Suggestions
were given looking toward1 order and
system in the collection and arrange
ment of material. Several changes
over the system of previous years have
been iaugurated this season.
Unusual interest is exhibited In tho
debates this year. Already about
thirty students have signified their In
tention of entering the preliminaries
nnd It is expected that this number will
be considerably swelled in tho course
of a few days.
Considerable interest was arouBOd
among the law students over the drat
jury trial of the year, held yesterday
afternoon. The trial was called lit
10 a. in. Saturday morning, but be
cause of the failure of witnesses to
appear, was postponed until Monday
afternoon. The court wa3 presided
over by Roscoe J. Anderson as Judgb.
Poe.pisll and Lundln counselled for the
plaintiff and Barton and Gibbs were
tho counsels for tho defendant.
