At the Men's meeting at the Oliver
Sunday afternoon, Judge W. D. Webb
of Atchison, Kan., will deliver an ad
dresB entitled "The Trial of Jesus
Christ from a Lawyer's Standpoint."
Judge Webb is a Jurist of fine reputa
tion and one of the ablest legal lights
of the central west Ho has given lec
tures throughout tho country to im
mense audiences. Tho press all over
the country has been onthusiastic in its
praise for Judge Wobb. The esteem
with which he is holy among eminent
Jurists is seen from tho recommenda
tion of David1 J. BrewBter, associate
Justice suprece court of tho United
States. "He aigued many cases iofore
me," said the justice, "while I was on
tho Hupreme bench of Kansas, and later
on the circuit bench of the United
States. I always found him an accur
ate and painstaking lawyer, one who
presented1 his case clearly and fully and
in whoso statements the court implic
itly relied."
A large crowd will undoubtedly bo
present. The doors will opon promptly
at 3:30 and every man wlho desires a
good seat should be on hand early.
The musical attraction will bo of un
usual merit. Prof. Clemens Movius,
the late director of tho Nebraska Con
sorvatory of Music will ronder some se
lect solos. Prof. Movius has been
prominent in musical circles' in Lincoln
for many years.

Debaters Register.
Registration for tho inter-state pre
liminary debate, which will be held
tho middle of January of tho first of
February, 1b apparently going to be
heavier than usual. At tho end of the
first day of registration, Secretary C.
L. Waldron reports tho names of
twenty-five aspirants ho knows of,
which 1b one more than there were at
the last a year ago.
From tho College of Law there aro
yet to come a number of candidates.

Pound's school aro going after the
honor of representing tho university
in the big battles that are coming next
spring.
The Debating Board1 met yesterday
afternoon in the Debate Trophy room
(U. H. 311) and transacted important
business relative to Nobras'as debates
