California's attractions are mostly
of its own kind, peculiar to tho-state,
and of none is this bo emphatically
true as that unique product the Big
Trees. Tho age of these clossi is from
1.G00 to 2,000 years. Tho Mariposa
Grove, which can be visited whllo en
route to the Yosemite, contains somo
of the largest. In the Calaveras Grovo
are 'from ninety to one hundred of
huge size. Near Santa Cruz is a
beautiful grovo of rodwood Big Trees
which will well employ a day's visit.
