SPALDINGS HONORED.
Word has been received from St.
I.ouls that the superior jury that hab
been In session for the past two weeks,
passing on the findings of tho group
and department juries, has awarded to
A. G. Spalding & Bros., of New York,
two very high awards. The highest
award that can he made in the expo
sition, and there can only be fifteen of
them made in all, has been made to
A. G Spalding & Bros, from the De
partment of Physical Culture. It is
a special award, consisting of a gold
medal, which is given in each depart
ment for the best, most complete and
most attractive installation, and this
t,)ecia! award has been given to A. G.
Spalding & Bros, for its fully equipped
gymnasium, which was Installed In the
gymnasium building of the Washing
ton University; also for its model
gymnasium as Installed In the--model
playground In the model street, as
well as for ita completo exhibit of ath
letic supplies that wefeln8talled in
the gymnasium.'' A. G. Spalding &
Bros, also rooeiveTTthe Grand Prize for
Its display of athletic goods and para
phernalia for all sports and pastimes.
This s more than praiseworthy from
the fact that the superior Jury only
awarded one grand prize in tho de
partment to an exhibitor of athletic
goods. A. G. Spalding & Bros, naturally
feel pleased at this finding, owing to
the fact that many foreign countries
exhibited another illustration of tho
progress of American manufacturers.
