ized," is just exactly the spirit which
the present Freshman class hopes to
avoid. That rushing in headlong,
hoping to vote the masses uninformed,
if they are present, or to assemble aS
few as possible whom a fac tion con
trols, which is the bane of politics to
day, is not to be tolerated by a Fresh
man class where It is not only the
privilege but the bounden duty, of
every lady and gentleman member to
vote", and that intelligently, on every
issue brought before the class.
This we intend to do without con
sulting our wholesouled friends, whose
cast-off boots we refuse to wear. We
are original. We have already done
that which no other class has. dared
tn do brave a storm of criticism.

formal registrar signatures, etc.? Why
did these factions not endeavor to be
come acquainted with their fellow
classmen and discuss the authenticity
of the sheet? Dare we assume that the
Sophs should be stripped of the glory
of that meeting and allow the mantel
to fall into the Freshman class? That
would be speaking unkindly of our
Freshman brothers, and in unity there
Is strength.
No! I et us as beginners be fair

by hoping that the two factions, who
have bad four years experience in class
aflaiiB. were innocent of any malicious
Intentions and that they were truly
trained. "
I et uh hope that no Soph would be
fo cowardly as to parade In a shifting
garb, and that some poor, misguided
Junior, whose "classmates are our
friends and want us to make a show
ing" has run Into an-onen switch
and Incidentally into a' "hetrogenous
group" that expect to think for them
selves, Let us get acquainted and have a
meeting when It suits our convenience,
not the Sophs, and the Juniors will
not insist upon conducting our meet
ing. Don't be afraid to mix! The city
boys,, don't bite and wo xity baps
leallze that no better or more honest
class of fellows ever lived than those
sons of toll who hail from the farm
