Candidates for Board Given until
May 7th to File Petitions.
Wednesday morning the Athletic
board met at chapel time. The first
thing they did was to extend the limit
of the day for handing In nominations
lor members of the Athletic board for
the coming year. It was extended one
week, making It G o'clock p. m. on May
7. 1904.
The board also discussed the matter
of girls voting for Athletic hoard mem
bers nnd laid the matter over to the
next meeting, at which time the con
stitution may be changed If the board
decides. They adjourned until next

members will be held as berore. on
May 18.
On Saturday occurs the Interclass
meet. Every student who Is loyal to
his class should be out prepared to root
on that occasion. Some fine material
Is being deveoped among the men and

MIbs Stephens, who has been carry
ing on some Bible study work with
Miss Paxton, Is giving the latter's in
terpretation of First Thessalonians. at
the noon meetings this week. There
has been a large attendance, Wednes
day about forty-five being present.
Mrs. Hinman at Chapel.
Mrs. Hinman, who gave an extended
talk some time ago on the American
college at Constantinople, talked yes
terday morning on the "Rise of Bul
garia." She brought out many very in
teresting facts on that country which

present and not only entertaining but
Instructive. Mrs. Hinman is a daugh
ter of the founder of the American
college, and her experience and close
connection with those countries makes
her competent to speak on their his
tory. Men and Womn Sunday 3 p. m.
The union meeting next Sunday at 3
p. m. in Memorial hall Is to be ad
dressed by the Rev. J. W. Ball, pastor
of Grace Lutheran church. Special
music has been secured. It is hoped
that every man and woman In the Uni
versity will make a special effort to
attend In order that this meeting may
bo the greatest success of its kind of
any this year.
