PALLADIAN GIRLS' PROGRAM Last Friday evening the annual pro gram of the- Palladlan girls was glv:ji in Palladian hall. The first part of the program was an entertainment given by "The Sweet Family." The oaBt of characters was as follqws: Ma Sweet (A Lone Relic.) Minnie Pe trashek. Arminty Ann Sweet (With Many Winning Ways,) Susan Barnhart. Betsy Bellndy Sweet (The Dellcato One,) Elizabeth Hawxby. Caroline Cordelia Sweet. Dorothy Delilah Sweet (Both Twins.) Nellie Miller and Clara Boose. Elizabeth Eliza Sweet (By Far the xiost Attractive,) Imogene Brewster Frances Fedory Sweet (Partial to Flowers.) Anna Moore. Gloriand Gadabout Sweet (Who Giggles.) Lillian Bennett. The play was highly appreciated by the audience. After the play the Pal. girls to the number of sixteen, prettily garlanded In white, and carrying gar lands of smilax, marched In to musir and presented a very pretty drill, com posed by one of their number. Miss Morencc Huntington. The drill was so pleasing lo the audience that th't girls were prevailed upon to repeat it. After the program the usual social recess was enjoyed and- then the boys gave their part of the evening's en tertainment. They surprised the girls with a substantial feed. After the feed, a good old-fashioned Virginia reel was enjoyed and then the night watch turned out the lights. Then six ty happy Palladlans descended the stairs to the tune of "John Jones," one more good time was over, only to be renewed the next lime they meet together. The Palladian society is In receipt of a fine photograph of the campus and buildings, of the Syrian Protestant college at Beirut, Syria. This picture is the gift of a fellow member, Mr. Samuel Anderson. '03, now of the Syrian Protestant college.' The pic ture has been neatly framed and hung on the wall of their hall. LAWS 28; DOUGLAS 8. There wasan Interesting game of basket ball between the Laws and Dou glas Saturday evening. Although Judg ing from the Bcore the Dougjas team was greatly outclassed, the teams "were much more evenly matched than the score indicates. In the first half the laws were able to throw four baskets, and two fouls, while Douglas threw one basket and one foul. The fact that the visiting team was unused to so large a floor probably ac counts for the large score In the sec ond half, for by the time the half was over the Douglas men wero beginning to show the effect of the work. The score card registered ten fouls on the Laws and only four on the visitors. Schoental, Smith and Elliott did good work for Douglas. This was the line-up: Douglas Roberts, cente; Smith and Castleman, forwards; Schoental and Elliott, guards. Laws Wallhian, centpr; Corlett and MatthewB, .forwards; Flansburg, Mllek and Leitner, guards, hBEST LINE TO ISAS CITY ST.
