even so far, as might bo expected at

The students of the University of
California put Into perfection this
week n grand scheme for making path
ways on the campus, and saved the
unlvorslty a sum of fifteen hundred
dollars. A thousand students worked
for eight hours and at the end of that
time 2.31)0 feet of pathway had been
constructed. The co-eds furnished
lunch at noon and one of the store
keepers of tho town sent down a bar
rel of lemonade to enliven matters
In the evening a celebration was held
at tho Greek theater and a large
amount of fireworks disposed of and
many speeches made.
