The Shadow OLIVER TypeiArifer The Standard Visible Writer Editor Dally Nebraskan: When other sources of Information are closed It Is customary to resort to the newspapers, they being regarded ns the ultimate foundtaln-head of knowl edge. My query Is this: Are library ruls at present so construed as to bar from entrance to the main library a gradu ate student, or anyone not registered is an academic) course? In company with another student, an alumnus of the University, who like myself, pays a tuition of nearly $50 a year, 1 entered the library the other day. Neither of us spoke to the other nor to any other person, but made our way In a manner quite sedate compared to tho conduct of rather active Indi viduals about us. We were challenged by the librarian and requested to divulge our business within the walls. Further, we were Informed that we should not walk through the library, and If on any oc casion we should desire to communi cate with any person In the library, we should wait for him outside. This would clearly in many cases necessi tate a camping outside for three or four hours. Such a ukase being so ex tremely startling, we retreated, post poning an investigation until a later date. Phones 744-773 Not a Leap-Year Affair The misconception has arisen that the band concert to be held in the Oli ver theatre next Monday evening is to be a leap year function, and several men students have refrained from pur- chasing tickets in the expectancy that some one oise would uo it lor mem. The Nobraska is authorized to state, that, notwithstanding the significance of the date, it Is not the Intention of the management of the band to make a leap year affair out of the concert. Ad mission will be 25, 35 and 50 cents. Those wishing box seats should see L. J. Pepperberg at once, in order that any decorations desired may be ar ranged for. The concert already promises to be a big success, and the band has excel lent prospects of clearing a neat sum toward Its Temple Fund pledges. 'Juniors Elect Officers. The Juniois met yesterday morning to elect ofllcers. In Bpite of the clash between factions which occurred last semester, utmost harmony prevailed vpsterday and the following officers were elected: John Allen, president. 0 N. Mather, vice president; Leon Peppeiberg, treasurer; Miss Thomas, secretary, and M. J. Brown, sergeant-nt-arms. Only one nominee came up for each ofllfe except that of president, where Hanlen contested wjth Allen, tho lat ter securing the ofllce by a vote of 38 to 1C. .
