New School Building At Farm To Cost $50,000. is i i Plans for the new school building at Uie state farm have been received at the office of the superintendent of construction. They call for a building that lias long been needed at the farm, and which vill prove of great advant age in the work which the department of agriculture already has in hand or contemplation. The buildings now at the farm are much crowded by the nec essity of holding recitations in the same rooms u here laboratory work is conducted, which has proved a deplor able Inconvenience all around. Be sides this, however, the demand for further facilities which has been brought out by the necessity for under taking work in entirely new lines, has become so insistent as to require im mediate attention. The large barn Just complete (a cut of which will ap pear In next Saturday's Nebraskan), while relieving the strain on some de partments, has, by Increasing the op portunities for further investigation, but made more pressing the call for nore leboratorles and class rooms. The new building to commence erec tion soon will be aimed primarily to fill UiIb demand. It will be a large two stoiy and basement structure, of hydraulic-; ressed brick, such as will be employed in the new physics building on the Uni. campus. The plans call for the utmost simplicity of construc tion, and no decorations will be atempt cd except on the large main entrance, which will be largely finished in terra cotta. The beauty of the building will not, however, be marred by this sim plicity and it will doubtless be one of tho handsomest as well as one of the most important of the new additions to the fnciwlies of the University. The building will be 140x05 feet in dimgiibioris and will face east toward the experiment station. The basement will coiualr. laboratories, animal hus: bandiy and pathology class rooms, jan itors' rooms and closetB. Two small offices will also be situated there. There will le north and south entrances to the basement as well as the main en trance on tho east. The fust floor will contain a large library loom, which will be situated at the touth end of the building and extend furcss its entire width. The di mensions will be 38x00 feet. Five large offices and a ladles' parlor will be situated on this floor, as well as two good-sized class rooms. In the second story there will be a large as sembly room, just above the library, on the first floor. Its dimensions will be the same as those of the library. The floor l also contain physics and botany laboratories and mathematics, English and other class rooms. A northern entrance will be provided on - the first floor.
