of the birth of a baby girl to Mr. and
Mrs. B. II. Wiggenhorn. Mrs. Wiggiu
horn was formerly Mit Jebsie Lan
sing, and both bIip and her husband
were prominent University people at
ono time.
The Academy closed for Charter Day.
So many students are taking part work
at tho University that nothing else
can be done on University holidays,
even if the Academy people did not en
joy thebo privileges. Tho farmers r,t
the experimental btations worked all
day, because, as Prof Davisson put it,
they can not breaTc over tho habit.
University people will be borry o
hear of tho death of John Uhl's father,
which- occurred laat week. The funeral
was held Saturday. Mrs. JameB Buric
of Deadwood. S. D.. and Mm. O. W.
Cook, of Benedict, daughters of th
deceased, and Mrs. Hardy, of Beatrice,
his sister, who have all been staying
at the home of Mr. Uhl, Ueparted for
their homes yesterday.
