S. D. Clinton, '02, civil engineering,
is now resident engineer on the Mary
land Western railway. Mr. Clinton
has been out of school only a year

partment.
The corresponding secretary of the
Engineering society Iras received a let
ter from F. L. Shinbur, enclosing a
substantial contribution to the society's
subscription to tire Temple Fund. Mr.
Shinbur is at Perez. Mexico, where he
is employed as resident engineer by
the Vera Cruz and Pacific railway. -
Professor Morse has received an in
teresting letter from Mr. Ferguson,
vfho rs with the General Electric Co.
He Is well satisfied with iris work.
Yont, Hunt, and a few other-Nebraska,
electrical engineers are employed by
the same company. The University of
Nebraska has an excellent reputation
with the company.
Some Estimates.
Professor Bess'ey has been gelling
the. annual statistics in regard to his
class in general botany, and finds that
of ninety-two who have reported, forty-six
are in the college of literature,
sciente and arts, forty-four in the hi
djstrial college, and two in the gradu
ate college. Of the men eleven are In
the college of literature, science and
arts, thirty-four in the industrial col
lege, and one In the graduate college;
while of the women thirty-five nre in
the college of literature, science and
arts nlneteon In the Industrial college,
and eleven in the graduate colltige.
The classes are represented as fol
