Cook, formerly a fellow In the department of physics here, pub lished an article In the London Philo sophical Magazine a short time ago, on "The Results of Various Investiga tions and Experiments In the Depart ment." Relics for Historical Society. A neAV collection or pioneer relics was recently added to th Historical So ciety's collection by Otis Ei AJlis. An old flintlock gun, used by Rev. Samuel Allls, who camo to Nebraska In 1833, as missionary to the Pawnees Is of special interest. The Indian relics were found on an anejent Indian vil lage site immediately across the river from the mouth of the Platte on the farm of the lendqr. The red clay pipe in the collection was made by Henry Fontanella and given to the owner, and the cane, a lit tle frail one. was cut from a grove near Papllllon. Neb., where Samuel Allls had a claim in the early 40's. Union Boys Debate. Zoology Notes. Dr. H B. Ward has nearly completed another article on parasites for Wood's Hand-book of Medical Science. Mr. F. A. Prince, tho artist of tho depart ment, 1ms been illustrating the article. Dr. H. B. Ward of the zoological de partment, will leave for York, Thurs day to assist In laying tho corner stone for the Y. M. C. A. building at that place. Six new directing microscopes and one very fine compound microscope hove been added to the zoological lab oratory. Quito a number of marine speci mens from the Naples laboratory have been gotten by the zoological de partment.
