Editorial Remarks Reserved seats for Saturday's game qro now on salo and every student who secures ono will be doing himself a good turn. Tho Haskell Indinns are considered a strong possibility and the gamo Saturday may be the hardest on tho whole schedule. The Indiatis have engendered a Btrong feeling of rivalry against Nebraska and they come ex pecting to win. and will play fiercely to accomplish this end. o- Students still find it convenient to take a short cut across the campus from tho library building to the chem ical laboratory. In consequence of thoir self-indulgonco an unsightly path markswhere they have 4rod. If the path ran straight or if its sinuosities even suggested symetry, it would not Uo so unsightly, tint as it Is, it is a blight on the appearance of the campus and tho students who bo Industriously seek to save, a small amount of time and a few erds of energy, should lalCG Into consideration the fact that to travel the distance around would oc copy but a few secondB of time which would not in any wlso be missed. o ' - hoped that thoy will be animated by tho same high hopes and aspirations that have characterized tho Initial ac tivities of classOB In the past, and that they will not allow themselves to swerve from the patn of uty In lend ing their assistance to evfiry movement having In view the betterment of tho class and the furthering of its interests. o- That Nebraska is considered a lead er In debating is evidenced by the chal lenges that have been coming in this fall from our sister institutions. De bating occupies a largo place In every college and it Is natural that the au thorities of each Institution In arrang ing their schedule should seek to obtain meetings with the most prominent teams possible. Nebraska's supremacy In donate is recognized and there are few Institutions that can point to an unbeaten record for two years straight. Despite the fact that many old men are gone, our prospects for tho present year can not be considered bad There is a good registration In the courses in aigumentatlon. and under tho efficient training afforded theie is a certainty that some good ifiateilal will l dvol oped. The methods used by Nebraska hae proved to be so superior to fhose In other Institutions that some of those have adopted them And since our University stands so high In this respect, every movement looking to the advancement of debating interests here should be heartily and enthusiastically pushed.. The student body should take pride In every University enterprise and especially debating, and lend their earnest support in currying on a good work. - The students of KansaTTTniversIty have been successful In their efforts to retain tlu Kansas-Nebraska con test at Lawrence. This" result will probably not affect the' result of tho game at all; for If Kansas hasn't the team Bho can't expect to win in any other way. No doubt tho game would have been a greater attraction had it been played in Kansas City, and the gato receipts would have been much greater. But the Kansas students raised a strenuous kick and succeeded in keeping the game at home, by bring ing up the argument that the wishes of tho student body wore paramount to any financial considerations. They al bo contended that the Nebraska game was the only good ono on the schedule, and that they would prefer to keep It at home. In this contention they were right, as thoy will undoubtedly see a game that will satisfy thoir most ox- Attend Library Ass'n Meeting. Last week thiee meiubeis ol the li brary stuff.
