For captain there were three nominee?, Emory Etanley. Kim Rarnes and R. S. Harris. Here the moel'.ng became spirited, the captaincy of the Pershing Rifles being considered ono of the most honored positions In the bnttallon, and one that only a good man can ever hope to be elected for. A preliminary wrangle ensued, arising from the presence of a number of for mer members of the company not In good standing, and who, It was de clared, were not eligible to vote. The difficulty was settled on the suggestion of Frank Beers that all these men re tire to the back Beats and cast no votes nt this election. The names of Stan Icy and Barnes were then votecj on, Mr. Harris withdrawing. Of the 4G votes cast Stanley received 24 and on motion of Mr. Baruee was elected unan imously.
