C A. Hancock, who attended the Uni versity In 1901-2. has re-entered school and will take work in the chemistry department. During the past year he has been In the employ of the Lincoln Paint & Color compam .John Hershey, of Omaha, who attend ed the University In 1901-2. has re turned to resume his studies in the en gineering department. He spent the past year In the employ of the H. & M. as draughtsman In Omaha and later In Lincoln. George Shidler, '03. Is stopping off In the city this week at the Sigma Alph house and visiting with old University friends. He Is on his way to Ann Ar bor, where he will take a four years' course In medicine In the University of Michigan. Arrangements were also made to give a reception next Fri day evening In Pal Hall Dr. Luckey has about completed the task of correcting proof on his new work entitled, "Training of Profes sional Teachers." The book, which is being published by the MacMillan com pany, of New York, is a general work and will be out next month. Up to yesterday evonlng the num ber of new students registered was 520. As regards the old students the figures are practically the same as last year. But as yet the figures for the latter have not been summed up and no definite facts can be obtained. The boys worked on a truck gang and were able to visit all parts of the mine and In vestigate Its workings for themselves.
