Andrews some bones of the mastodon
collected by him three years ago In
Frontier county. So many bones and
teetli of the mammoth and mastodon
have recently been received from
friends of the University that the time
Is not far distant when complete resto
rations of these animals will be possible.

Mr. W. L. Pairbrother of Lincoln
has just loaned the state museum a
specimen from his own private collec
tion, which is the first of its kind re
ceived. It is the vertebra of a 75-foot
whale, and has been placed on exhibi
tion in the north wall case of tho
museum. The great bone measures
three feet across and two nnd a half
feet In height.

Guy W. ("Bonnet") Hood made a
trip to Glldden. Iowa, during Easter
recess, to see a little nephew who ar
rived there on Easter Sunday. The
conditions of the visit soon became
known among his friends here, and
now it is "Uncle Bonnet" who holds
down third, wearing a smile so broad
as to take up most of the space be-
een third base and shortstop.
