from a malignant attack of German
measles, with which he was confined
to the house the greater part of last

J. W. Sparks of Central City spent a
few days the latter part of last week
with his daughter Alice, who Is tak
ing post graduate work in the Unl
versiy. Professor Dann has returned from
his home In Ohio, where he was sum
moned two weeks ago by the serious
Illness of Mb father, whose condition
has shown no Improvement.
Mrs. Esther Prey Boomer expects to
leave soon for Manila to Join her hus
band, who went there a little over a
year ago to teach school but finally be
came interested in newspaper work.
Prof. Arthur Allin, head of the de
partment of philosophy and education
in the University of Colorado, will
lecture to the students of philosophy
and education here on Monday even
ing, April 6th. The subject of the lee-
ture will be "The Origin and Func
tion of Play." All interested are In
vited to attend.
The senior class party will be held
Friday evening, April 3d, at the arm
ory. Tickets may be had from any
member of the committee.
Misses Lucy and Lily Thomas, of
Red Oak, la., vlBited In the city over
Sunday, the gueBtB of their cousins,
Sherman Black and O. R. Logan of
the university, who are from the same
town.
Glen Chapman has been compelled to
give up his work In the University on
account of sickness. He left for his
home In Aurora Saturday, but hopes
to return within a few weelo If his
health will permit.
Wm. Rice, who formerly attended
the University and who is now the
editor of the Central City Republican,
spent Sunday and Monday in the city,

renewing old acquaintances among old
University friends.
