An effort is being made to resurrect the GraduateBulletin, the publication of which was continued by vote of the Graduate Club. The publication was of great sorvlco in securing valuable exchanges. It Ib reasonably certain that the regents will bear the expense of one Issue a year If the club will undertake the editing and furnish the manuscript. The University of Michigan con ferred degrees upon 776 candidates at Its recont commencement. Nell Snow, the greatest all-around athlete who ever attended the University, was given a tremendous ovation. White, Weeks (captain), and Wilson, of the football team, were each given nine 'rahs by the students as they received their diplomas. The Alpha Phi Fra ternity. One hundred and seventy-six men are trying for places on the Illinois track team. Mathematical Seminar The next meeting of the Mathemat ical Seminar takes place on Saturday evening, January 17th, at 7:30 p. m., In room 302, Mechanic, Arts building. Uni versity of Nebraska. Medics Meet The Medical Society met last night in Mechanic Arts hall. A quartet com posed of Messrs. VaBey, Langly, Bruce and Bruce sang two numbers. President Long Introduced r. Mll roy of Omaha, who spoke on the sub ject, "The Life of Oliver Wendell Holmes as a Physician." Dr. Mllroy reviewed briefly the early life of Holmes and showed that he was a genuine boy, with boyish trlckB. Dr. Holmes" had the advantage ot a thor ough academic training before pursu ing his professional Btudies. He studied law and was admitted to the bar, but nover practiced. Dr. Mllroy said that great advances have been made in methods of acquir ing a medical education. Seventy years ago the medical student was obliged to spend at least two years in foreign study. Now most cities of any importance have proficient schools of medicine. Dr. Mllroy was in favor of shorten ing the courses to include only those subjects actually required. r.-JChe speaker was given an Informal reception after the meeting. "Wisconsin has arranged for track meots with Illinois, Belolt and Chi cago. Dally najvspapers are now published by Columbia, Chicago, Cornell, Cali fornia, Brown, Harvard, Michigan, Minnesota, Indiana, Princeton, Penn sylvania, Stanford, Wisconsin, Yale, and Nebraska. Serious trouble was narrowly avert ed at the University of Minnesota lost fall when a certain fraternity violated a university regulation by pledging seven freshmen before they were properly registered. The Northwestern will schedule all football games on the home grounds for next season, except the Chicago game, which will be played on Mar shall field. By having theBe games at home Northwestern hopes to go the season with a winning team. Strict rules have been Instituted at Albion College. Dancing, card-playing and smoking are to be prohibited. The three fraterlties in existence there have been ordered to give up their charters. Many students are planning to leave school at once. Round Table. The Atlanta University Bulletin says: "Nearly 3,000 negroes have graduated In this country fiom at least a fairly respectable college course, and eighty-three per cent of them have found remunerative and beneficent employment In teaching and other professional work."
