custom of having a football games on
Thanksgiving. The Junior college has
passed a resolution to this effect and
have asked the seniors to indorse it.
Tho majority of those outside of col
lego aro opposed to this plan, as it is
Impossible for many of them to wit
ness a game except on legal holiday.
If you intend to teach next year,
don't forget that you have an oppor
tunity to get In touch with school peo
ple at the State Teacher's association
which meets during the holidays. It
may mean many dollars to you next
year. It will certainly make you a

Academy U Delate
A debating Association was organ
ized at the Lincoln Academy Thursday
night. "Seventeen of tho prep boys
were, in attendance and manifested
considerable Interest in debate. Pro
fessor Hodgman acted as temporary
chairman and officers were elected and
officers were elected and committees
appointed. Professor Fogg addressed
the meeting in a very entertaining
and -Instructive manner on the Bubject
of debates and Its benefits and assisted
tho boys in choosing question and
getting the work under headway. C.
Craft will assist and guide the asso
ciation in its work.
The following officers were elected
and will compose the program commit
tee: M. W. Ryan, president; , Albert
Manning, vice president, and P. !.
Vanie, secretary and treasurer. The
commltteo on by-laws and Constitu
tion is Jenkins, Mather and Builta,
The next meeting will bo held on

Beta Theta Pi gavo a vory pleasant
informal dancing party at the chapter
house, 1630 O street, Friday night.
Tho decorations were in the fraternity
colors, pink and light blue. Mr. and
Mrs. F. D. Cornell, Dr. and Mrs. H. H.I
Everett and Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Rick
etts chaperoned eighteen couples of
dancers. Ices were served all evening.
Misses Bess and Kate Heacock, Ma
bolle Miles, Carrie Slocum and Edna
Holland returned laBt evening from
Falls City, whore they attended the
wedding of Miss Margaret Custer, a
former student of the university and
n momber of Pi " Beta Phi sorority.
Miss CuBter was married on Thursday
to Mr. Robert White of Denver, and
tho ladles from the local chapter of
PI Beta Phi acted as bridesmaids.
